Kerry’s group water schemes below the national average

Kerry County Council says they are working closely with private water schemes to ensure all groups install disinfection in their water. The 2002 EPA report cited Kerry`s group water schemes as below the national average. Up to 16 of these schemes supply water to in excess of 50 people or more around the county.Ger McNamara says the majority of private schemes are located in remote areas. The 2002 report showed the problems with faecal coli forms at a below national average of 77.6%. The main sector concerning Kerry county council is the installation of disinfection into the supply.
