Kerry teenagers hailed as heroes after river rescue

A pair of Kerry teenagers are being hailed as heroes after rescuing a mother and baby from a river. River Feale 1On Tuesday Shay Walsh from Scartaglin and his girlfriend Alison Jones from Ballymacelligott were walking along the bank of the River Maine when they heard the woman’s cries for help. The couple pulled the mother and a baby who was in a buggy, which had slipped into the river to safety. Both of the teenagers’ secondary school principals have told Radio Kerry they are very proud of their actions.
