Kerry TD says increase in registered goods vehicles is sign of improving economy

Kerry South Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin says the 120% increase in the number of goods vehicles registered in the first six months of this year compared to the same period in 2013 is an indication of the improving economy. Brendan Griffin The latest CSO figures show that between January and June of this year the number of goods vehicles registered has increased to almost 13,500, a jump of 52% since 2014 and 120% since the same period in 2013. Private car sales have increased by almost 59% to 78,660. Deputy Griffin says these figures follow decisions by the Government not to increase VRT, motor tax or fuel taxes in Budget 2015.
