Kerry TD raises the issue of waiting lists for cataract operations at national level

A Kerry TD has raised the issue of waiting lists for cataract operations at national level.

Speaking in the Dáíl, Deputy Danny Healy-Rae claimed there are people waiting for over three years for cataract operations, and teenagers who have been waiting four or five years for orthodontic treatment.

He asked the Taoiseach if he has interacted with the HSE about the queries raised in the Dáil in relation to the issue, and if so, what answers has he received.

Deputy Healy-Rae added the government gave an extra €900 million to the HSE last year, and yet the waiting list for cataract operations is huge.
