Kerry TD expresses concern over potential for dune collapses on Kerry beaches

Brendan Griffin has expressed concern over potential for dune collapses on Kerry beaches following recent storms. Collapsed sand dune at Inch The Kerry Fine Gael TD says the beach side of the dunes at Inch is now dangerously vertical in nature, measuring over ten feet in height in places. Kerry County Council has issued a warning to people to take care near sand-dunes and cliffs warning that high tides and heavy seas over the Christmas and New Year period could have affected stability. The local authority is continuing the clean-up of the coastal areas, and has paid tribute to local communities for their efforts in the clean-up.
