A Kerry TD is calling for clarity on the use of a Dexa scanner at University Hospital Kerry.
Sinn Féin Deputy Martin Ferris wants the Minister for Health and the HSE to explain what’s happening which the machine, which measures bone density.
He says a number of constituents have contacted him saying their GPs have been asked not to refer patients for a Dexa scan at University Hospital Kerry.
The scanner was bought by the Friends of Kerry General Hospital in 2014.
Deputy Ferris says the Minister and the HSE need to provide answers on its use.
The HSE has been contacted for comment but has yet to respond.
