Kerry students to take part in national flag ceremony today

Students from secondary schools around the county – and indeed the country – will take part in a National Flag Ceremony at Croke Park today. Irish flag over a blue sky background6,000 secondary school students will attend the event – which will feature a keynote address from President Michael D Higgins. The tricolour – as a symbol of peace – will be celebrated at today’s event. Director of Ireland 2016 John Concannon – says the significance of the flag which was designed in 1848 – will be the central focus of today’s ceremony.
