Kerry secondary school students are worried about future education and housing prospects–according to a new survey. A student attitudes index published by Studyclix.ie explored a range of national topics and day-to-day issues. According to the survey, 55 percent of Kerry students say it is unlikely they will be able to purchase a house in the county when they begin working. 57 percent say the cost of rent will influence where they go to third level education, with only 26 percent considering Dublin due to the cost. The survey also reveals Kerry students have role models such as Conor McGregor, Barack Obama, Lady GaGa and Taylor Swift. With regard to social media, Snapchat has replaced Facebook as the most popular app, while over half of the students surveyed say their school work has been affected by social media use. The survey also showed there is a serious dislike of our country’s politicians by our secondary school students.
