Kerry has received the highest number of nominations so far for the Irish Welcome Awards at 18%. The Munster region has received over half of all nominations in the country. Bed and breakfasts make up most of the nominees in the Irish Welcome Awards.64% of nominations relate to the sector, while 10% are for Tourist Information Offices and tour guides and drivers account for 9%. Fáilte Ireland says it’s on target for a record number of entries in the competition, which was established in 2001. Nominations have been received from more than 35 countries including the Philippines, the Czech Republic and South Africa.
