Kerry eateries swept the boards last night at the Munster Final of the Irish Restaurant Awards. The winners will now compete for the regional and All-Ireland Titles which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards in Dublin this May. Ídas in Dingle scooped the coveted title of Kerry’s Best Restaurant while Philip Brazil of Sheen Falls’ Falls Restaurant was named Kerry’s Best Chef. Best Gastro Pub in Kerry went to Nick’s Seafood Restaurant & Piano Bar, Killorglin while Cahersiveen’s QC’s Seafood Restaurant scooped Best Casual Dining. The Panorama Restaurant at The Europe Hotel & Resort was named Best Hotel Restaurant, Best Customer Service went to The Oyster Tavern, The Spa and Sol y Sombra, Killorglin won Best Wine Experience and Alberto Mendoza of the restaurant claimed Best Manager. Local Food Hero was Mark Murphy of Dingle Cookery School and Best Newcomer was The Mews, Kenmare.
