Kerry Parents and Friends CEO praises HIQA

kerry parentsThe CEO of Kerry Parents and Friends Association says the constant monitoring of the care given to vulnerable people is needed. Kerry Parents and Friends provide residential and day services for more than 200 adults with intellectual disabilities. CEO Marie Linehan says the watchdog responsible for monitoring the care given to vulnerable people does valuable work and has her full support. She says the establishment of the Health Information and Quality Authority, HIQA, was an important step forward in ensuring that the most vulnerable in society receive proper care from their service providers. She says recent controversies such as the alleged abuse of a woman with special needs in a foster care home underline the need for HIQA. [audio_player src=””]
