Kerry Mountain Rescue are urging people to take serious heed of all weather warnings, and to avoid the mountains at this time. The warning follows an incident on Carrauntoohill yesterday afternoon when up to twenty members of Kerry Mountain Rescue were tasked to come to the aid of a walker on who sustained an injury. The walker was among a group of 4 who had been hiking in the area yesterday morning. The alarm was raised at 2.30 pm yesterday. The walker, an Irish male in his early 30’s, was treated at the scene for a suspected leg break and was stretchered down the mountain. He was then transferred by an ambulance at approximately at 17.30 to Kerry General Hospital for further medical treatment.
