MEP for Ireland South, Seán Kelly is welcoming an agreement in principle reached on the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, after two years of negotiations. Mr. Kelly is the only Irish member of the European Parliament’s International Trade Committee and of its Delegation for Relations with South East Asia. He says that opening up new markets, such as Vietnam, has the potential to significantly benefit the Irish and European economies. The MEP particularly highlighted the trade deal’s potential to boost to the Irish dairy sector saying he is confident that it is a very good deal for EU Member States and Ireland in particular. Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing dairy markets in Asia.
