Kerry land market remains solid

Kenmare land agricultural farmThe Kerry land market remains solid, that’s according to the Irish Farmers Journal’s annual Agricultural Land Price Report which is out today. The Land Price Report reveals what the average price of land was county by county throughout 2015 with reference to the previous eight years. The average price of agricultural land was €9,360 per acre in 2015, representing a 4% increase when compared against the 2014 average of €9,000 per acre. Nationally however, the report reveals average agricultural land prices fell by 9.9% last year. 3,251 acres were offered for sale in the county last year, down from 3,406 acres in 2014. Among the bigger farms were a 103-acre residential farm at Cahersiveen and a 123 residential farm at  Listowel, both of which were withdrawn at auction.
