The rising star of the Ireland jockeys room has spoken of riding a winner at the Cheltenham Festival as the one he really wants.
Kerry teenager Jack Kennedy has taken the sport by storm this season and is already well past the 50 winners mark.
For Kennedy, attached to Gordon Elliott’s County Meath yard, it is now a question of waiting to see what rides he’ll get at what he admits is a meeting like no other.
He told Mike Vince how he’s looking forward to the Festival
Trainer Colin Tizzard says he’s 99 per cent sure that Thistlecrack will still miss the Cheltenham Festival.
The King George winner is set for another scan on a tendon injury which could rule him out of a tilt at the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Tizzard’s told The Racing Post that today’s scan is to assess the extent of the damage rather than investigate whether there was a misdiagnosis.
He says Thistlecrack has been recovering well but “as far as I’m concerned he’s still out.”
Breeders Cup Classic winner Arrogate is set to run in the Dubai World Cup at Meydan on March 25th.
The Bob Baffert-trained four-year-old is the highest rated flat horse in the world.
Arrogate followed up last year’s Breeders Cup win by taking the Pegasus World Cup title last month.
