Kerry IFA President candidate predicts win for Joe Healy

A Kerry candidate contesting the Irish Farmer’s Association presidency says there’s been an anti-establishment swing in voting. IFA Farmers logo Counting is underway in Dublin this morning, with Galway dairy farmer Joe Healy – who’s never held an IFA post – neck and neck with IFA National Livestock chairman Henry Burns. A win for Healy would be seen as a backlash against the current administration in the wake of last year s pay debacle. In the first count 271 out of 974 branches have been opened Joe Healy is on 2996, Flor McCarthy is on 2495 and Henry Burns is on 399. No boxes in Leinster or Galway have yet been opened.
