Householders in Kerry are being warned not to give money to door-to-door collectors, who claim to be fundraising for the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service. Gardaí in Tralee are investigating reports that two teenage girls collected money from a number of houses in the town on Friday night and again, last night. The girls were described as being about 15 years old, and carrying a clipboard. They had no identification, but convinced a number of householders in The Kerries, Spa Road and Ballyrickard areas, that they were fundraising on behalf of the KDYS. Administrator of the KDYS, Lorraine Macintyre, says the public should be aware that the organisation never carries out door to door collections.
