A new report from the Road Safety Authority has found that the highest proportion were in Donegal at 18 per cent, followed by Kerry, Cork, and Wexford – all at nine per cent. In the four years to 2012, 71 people died on Irish roads because of defective tyres, and more than half were drivers aged under 24.
