Kerry Group has purchased ingredients company Quest Food Ingredients for 440 million us dollars. The acquisition is not expected to be completed until the second quarter of 2004. Kerry is to purchase quest from the ICI group. The Company has nine major sourcing units located across Europe, the Far East, Canada and the United States and sales and market development resources in 23 countries.Commenting on the acquisition Kerry Group Chief Executive Hugh Friel said Quest will bring a number of important new technology platforms to Kerry. He said with increasing focus on by the global food industry on health, nutrition and food safety, Quest will create exciting growth opportunities for Kerry. It will also add a new list of global customers to the company.
