A Kerry GP is urging people in at risk groups to get the flu vaccine. It’s being reported today that a child died in a Dublin Hospital of the H1N1 strain known as swine flu. 10 people – have died from the flu so far this season. Dr Eamon Shanahan from Farranfore says over 65s, pregnant women, people with chronic illnesses and health care workers should get the vaccine. [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/52378/medium/”] Meanwhile, the HSE have asked visitors to Kerry General Hospital NOT to visit Kerry General Hospital if they have been affected by influenza type symptoms, or if they have been in contact with anyone with these symptoms, and not to visit UNTIL they have been symptom-free for 72 hours.
