Kerry ETB says students have right to opt out of religion classes

Kerry ETB says it accommodates parents who don’t want their children to attend religion classes. KETB logo However, it says schools can’t  guarantee separate supervision for students who opt out of religion classes. This is because current teacher allocation numbers may not cover this. The authority says Kerry ETB schools work in partnership with parents to address issues relating to religious education. Kerry Education and Training Board says  it’s the right of parents to decide whether their child is taught religion. The board’s responsible for eight post-primary schools in the county.
