Kerry County Council are in the process of acquiring land in efforts to provide further affordable housing. There are 18 affordable houses in the county, all are occupied. 4 houses have just been completed in Ballybunion and are awaiting allocation. The Council is currently gauging interest for the scheme for future projects in the county. The County Council have recently offered houses or sites in areas from Castleisland to Kenmare in an effort to gauge public interest. Based on this information they will be able to plan further affordable housing for the county. The development will provide welcome relief for low income earners and Local Authority Tenants seeking to buy their own property.
