Kerry councillor calls for illegal dumpers to be named and shamed

RUBBISH2A Kerry councillor believes a project in Dublin to name and shame illegal dumpers should be rolled out in Kerry. The pilot scheme involves Dublin City Council putting up posters with photographs of people caught disposing of their waste improperly; the council says it’s yielding results. Chair of Listowel Municipal District, Fianna Fáil Councillor Jimmy Moloney, who’s involved with the local Tidy Towns, says this is a great idea and would work as a deterrent for illegal dumping in Kerry.
