Kenmare man promoted to top executive position in BP

A Kenmare man has been promoted to a top executive position in one of the world’s leading fuel companies.

UCD graduate Bernard Looney from Ashgrove outside Kenmare has been named as the new Chief Executive of BP’s Upstream division which is the exploration arm of the business. He has been chief operating officer of production in the BP Upstream division since 2013. The former student of Holy Cross College in Kenmare joined BP in 1991 as a drilling engineer.
