Tender for the construction of 24 houses by Kerry County Council for Kenmare has been approved. The go-ahead for the project was given by The Department of the Environment. These houses will provide affordable dwellings in a good environment for people on the local authority housing waiting list in Kenmare. The approval clears the way for Kerry County Council to enter into a contract for the commencement of construction on the scheme. The news has been welcomed by Minister John O Donohue.
