Just 14% of Kerry general election candidates so far are women

The number of women selected so far in Kerry to contest the next general election is still below the number who stood at the last election nearly five years ago. ballot-box Campaign group, Women for Election, is urging women in Kerry to consider putting their names forward for the forthcoming poll. In 2011, four women contested the election in the constituences of Kerry North and Kerry South. So far however just one woman has been selected in the new Kerry five-seater for next year’s general election. That’s just 14 percent of all candidates nominated to stand so far.
