The Institute of Technology in Tralee is undergoing a marketing drive to recruit students to the college. The IT says the third level sector is becoming increasingly competitive. This is due to a demographic drop in the number of eighteen year olds and the amount of young people who opt not to attend third level or who defer.The institute is looking into liaising with a college in Switzerland and may enter into a partnership arrangement with them. Brid McElligiott is the Marketing and Development Manager at The Institute of Technology. She says the dynamics of the third level market have changed.
