IT Tralee open to meaningful discussions with TUI members on complaints procedure

IT Tralee says it is available to engage in meaningful discussions with members of the Teachers’ Union of Ireland in a dispute over the institute’s students’ complaints procedure. ITT Industrial action began earlier this week and according to the Students’ Union at the college TUI members are not providing students with feedback in relation to assessments or academic progress. They also say TUI members have been directed not to attend student-lecturer meetings scheduled after exam results are released. President of the IT Tralee Students’ Union Ben Slimm says the action is having an extremely detrimental effect on the student body at a crucial time approaching final exams. He told Treasa Murphy there was no advance warning to them of this industrial action:   [audio_player src=””]
