Increased compensation rates for Kerry farmers affected by TB

cowsKerry farmers affected by TB will be able to access increased compensation after new rates were secured by the Irish Farmers’ Association. The changes, which come into effect from May 1st, will also see qualifying criteria for compensation altered. Farmers currently in receipt of income supplement payments will receive the higher rate for all the animals they have lost in their May and subsequent payments. Last year TB fell to its lowest recorded level; there were 140 Kerry farms affected.
