Despite appeals from the gardai asking people not to use fireworks and bangers, Gardai in Tralee say they had numerous calls of complaint from the public relating to the use of bonfires and bangers. Several complaints were made in connection with the disturbance the illegal fireworks were causing at various areas around the town. In Killarney several bottle banks were burned out.Gardai in Tralee are investigating vandalism to three cars in the town. Numerous homes also had windows broken, including Gaelscoil Mhic Easmain where four windows were smashed. Home owners were present in some houses when the incidents occurred. Gardai say there is no evidence to connect last night`s vandalism and the use of illegal fireworks. Three arrests were made for public order offences. Meanwhile in Killarney four bottle banks near tesco on the park road in the town were burned shortly after mid night. Gardai in Killarney and the fire service were alerted. Gardai say they believe the incident was malicious and are investigating.
