IAVI reports lack of rural sites in Kerry

An auctioneer in the county says the lack of rural planning permissions for one off houses is driving up the cost of property in the countryside. Eddie Barrett with the IAVA says they had up to thirty rural sites for sale five years ago, today they have three in their books. He says rural planning in Kerry is a thing of the past and the price of land with planning permission has trebled in the last number of years. The IAVI carried out a nationwide survey on changes in the property market. Eddie Barrett says there is a problem with finding sites in rural Kerry.
