Representatives from University Hospital Kerry are to be asked to address Tralee Municipal District councillors about parking at the facility. Cllr Norma Foley told the recent meeting of councillors that it adds to the trauma for the family members of patients to be running around looking for a place to park the car, which she said is grossly unacceptable. The issue was raised following a motion by Cllr Pat McCarthy highlighting the parking situation for residents in nearby Marian Park. He called for signage to be erected informing motorists that parking is for residents only. Council management said such signs would cost €1,700.
