Hopes new IFA President can restore confidence as counting begins

The position is being filled after the group’s former president Eddie Downey stepped down – amid controversy over the pay and conditions at the body. The three candidates in the running are Kenmare’s Flor McCarthy, Henry Burns from Laois, and Galway man Joe Healy. Over 75,000 members were eligible to cast their vote – with counting to begin at 9 o’clock this morning.
