A homeless man described by his solicitor as “Walter Mitty incarnate” has been jailed for eight months at Killarney District Court. 30 year old Tim Ward admitted to making a phone call to a woman in September in which he threatened to damage her house warning her that he is known by the IRA. His solicitor said Mr Ward who now has 101 convictions regretted making the call which was done under the influence of alcohol. Mr Ward also pleaded guilty to stealing cider in Tesco, Manor West, Tralee on July 30th last and possession of cannabis herb on August 14th. He was handed down a range of sentences totalling eight months.
