The highlights of Kerry County Council’s programme of events to mark the centenary of 1916 have been revealed. On April 17th there will be a commemoration at Valentia Cable Station. April 21st will see President Michael D Higgins visit the county to lay a wreath at the Casement Memorial at Banna Beach. On the same day there will be a commemoration at Ballykissane Pier and the opening of a special exhibition on Casement at Kerry County Museum. The O’Rahilly Commemorative Weekend in Ballylongford takes place on April 30th. The highlights are part of a year long programme of events around the county.
