Heritage Council speak out on planning staff problems

The Heritage Council says local authorities will hold onto planning staff if they give sufficient support and backing to planners. Back in February, Kerry County Council admitted experiencing problems in recruiting planners – a difficulty which has delayed the production of town and village plans across the county. Chief Executive Michael Starrett says planning departments have been under pressure but that Councils are now starting to appreciate that they need to give their full support to decisions made by their planners.
