Health care professionals in West Kerry have joined forces to set up a new initiave aimed at delivering a better service to patients. General practitioners, practise nurses, public health workers, physio and occupational therapists, social workers and home helps are all involved in the service. The initiave means there will be greater screening and health promotion and patients will have direct access to a physiotherapist from a GP.All patients registered with GP`s in Dingle, Annauscaul, or Castlegregory registered with a GP are invited to enrol. Over 9,000 people are expected to sign up in the coming months. According to Dr Finabar O Shea from Dingle, the new approach means people in west Kerry will receive an enhanced service through greater liaison and communication with health care professionals.
