Green light for expansion of Killorglin pharmaceutical company

Pharmaceutical company Astellas Ireland has been given the green light to expand its Killorglin facility.

Kerry County Council granted planning permission for the construction of a warehouse, packaging areas, offices, plant rooms, car parking and internal roads at its plant in Bansha, Killorglin, subject to 10 conditions.

The facility, which manufactures a range of drugs, was established in 1990 and currently employs 259 permanent and 65 temporary staff.
