Gleeson doesn’t rule out future General Election bid

Councillor Michael Gleeson has announced he won’t be running in the forthcoming General Election. Cllr Michael Gleeson The news comes following a meeting of the Kerry Independent Alliance in Killarney last night. Cllr Gleeson says it was ‘an enormously difficult decision’ that was partly due to the availability of his small but dedicated team and their policy of not canvassing after dark. The former footballer ran in the Kerry South constituency in the 2011 General Election, and came close to winning a seat. However, he told Radio Kerry News he didn’t rule out running again, especially in the event of there being another election in the summer. [audio_player src=””]
