Garvey’s Supervalu has announced a major €2 million investment in their Tralee store. The shop, which has operated in Rock St since 1992, currently employs over 80 people. The Garvey Group says the Tralee development will showcase the best of local fresh foods in a new and exciting format for customers. Their Dingle store which was developed in 2015 won Supervalu Store of the Year and it’s expected that the Tralee development will be a continuation of this type of format of store, which focuses on fresh and innovative foods and highlighting local food producers. Garvey’s say they now wish to invest in Tralee and its surrounding areas, and continue their renowned support for local suppliers and local jobs. They have engaged local Tralee based contractors Ned O’Shea and Sons as the main contractors for the work. The €2 million refurbishment is expected to be completed in 8 to 10 weeks. Manager of the Tralee Store, Sandra Lynch said it is an exciting time for management and staff. She said that customers will be able to enjoy a complete new and unique shopping experience with exciting fresh food concepts while still experiencing the renowned Garvey’s excellent customer service. She said that Garvey’s is local and by tradition huge supporters of the local community and in return it receives amazing support from customers, so it’s now time to give something back.
