Gardai are appealing for the public’s help after a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in Tralee. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and was one of two arson attacks in the town in recent days, which are currently under investigation. The incident on Wednesday occurred in the Balloonagh Estate area of Tralee, when a petrol bomb was thrown at a private house at 4.30am. No damage was done, as the device smashed on a footpath and ignited. Gardai say they’re taking the incident very seriously, and are trying to establish a motive for what occurred. They’ve appealed to anyone who saw or heard anything in the Balloonagh Estate area at that time on Wednesday morning, to contact them immediately. Meanwhile in a separate incident, a car was set on fire and destroyed in the Ballyroe area of Tralee at 4.20am on the morning of Monday, January 11th. The damage was done to the car on a country road immediately behind the Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Gardai believe this may have been a random act of vandalism, and they’ve asked the public to get in touch with them, if they saw any suspicious activity in the area that morning.
