Thieves who stole cash, ATM cards and other items from a car at Banna Strand on Thursday evening headed straight to the cash machine at the Horan Centre in Tralee to withdraw large sums of money. Gardaí have appealed to anyone who noticed suspicious activity at the AIB machine between 6.30 and 6.40pm on Thursday last, April 28th to come forward. They believe the transaction may have taken some time as the culprits had a number of ATM cards to go through and several transactions were completed in the 10-minute period. The thieves stole around €1,900 in cash, ATM cards, passports, a phone charger and four boxes of chocolates from the parked car at the Banna Strand car par between 4.45 and 6pm on Thursday. One of the four occupants of the car had been the sign language interpreter at the State Commemorations for Roger Casement the previous week. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Tralee or any garda station.
