Gardaí not injured in assault, court hears

A man accused of assaulting two gardaí and damaging property belonging to them has been remanded on continuing bail to appear in court again in July. Tralee courthouse2 Since his last court appearance, James Casey of 51 Balloonagh, Tralee has raised €1,000 of the €3,000 the court ordered him to pay. The 33-year-old, who has 64 previous convictions, is accused of the offences at An Daingean Garda Station on July 1st last year. His solicitor Pa Daly said it was accepted that neither garda required medical attention, and although the spectacles of one garda were broken, no injury was caused. Judge James O’Connor adjourned the matter until the July 6th sitting of Tralee District Court.
