Gardai are continuing to technically examine a house in Valentia in which two pensioners were assaulted during a robbery. Gardai are investigating the aggravated burglary at the home of the two brothers. In the early hours of this morning a gang of four men entered the house, tied the men up and beat them. The gang then stole a considerable amount of money. The brothers who are in their 80’s were finally able to free themselves around 4am and alerted a neighbor who then contacted the gardai. One brother has been released from Tralee General Hospital and the other is still being treated at Cahersiveen Hospital. Gardai are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything in the area between 1am and 4am to contact them at Cahirciveen Garda Station. Superintendent Pat O`Sullivan says it was a despicable attack.
