Four remanded in custody on charges of violent disorder in Killarney

Three men and one woman have been remanded in custody to appear at Tralee District Court next Tuesday on charges of violent disorder. Killarney District Court All four appeared before yesterday’s sitting of Killarney District Court and failed in their bid to make bail. 19 year old Neil O’Mahony, 21 year old Stephanie McCarthy and 18 year old Denis McCarthy all of Ballyspillane Estate, Killarney and 20 year old Mark O’Callaghan of 126 Killeen Wood, Tralee were charged with with public order and violent disorder offences at Ballyspillane Estate, Killarney on December 1st and 2nd. It’s alleged a number of gardai were assaulted during the incident. One other person, 18 year old John Goggin of 104 Ballyspillane Estate who was charged with public order offences only, was released on bail. Solicitor Padraig O’Connell who represented the five accused said each of them trenchantly disputed and denied any wrongdoing. Judge James O’Connor said these were most serious matters.
