The Irish Language and Gaeltacht Communities in Kerry will be discussed today in Dingle at the AGM of Fóram Gaeilge Chiarraí. Members of the local community are invited to attend the forum at Óstán Benners to voice their opinion on the future development of the Irish Language in Kerry. Pádraig Mac Fhearghusa, Nóirín Ní Chartúir and Dara Ó Cinnéide will each give a brief talk on language investment, gaeltacht education and the role of the State in developing Irish. This will be followed by workshops to determine the work of the Fóram for the coming year. Dara Ó Cinnéide will open the Fóram today at noon – the AGM runs until 2 o’clock this afternoon.
