Flor McCarthy urges Kerry farmers to back his IFA bid

Kerry’s first candidate for president of the Irish Farmers’ Association is appealing to members in the county to back his bid. Flor McCarthy,  Kerry’s first ever candidate for IFA President who officially launched his campaign, at Kenmare Bay Hotel, on Friday night. Flor is currently  the organisation’s Rural Development Chairman.Photo:Valerie O'Sullivan/NO REPRO FEE****FREE PIC***Voting in the IFA elections began this week and Kenmare’s Flor McCarthy is hoping for major support both here at home and across Munster. Over the past number of weeks candidates have taken part in 27 presidential debates. 75,000 IFA members are entitled to vote in 947 branches and voting will take place for the next two weeks with the count on April 19th. Flor McCarthy is appealing to farmers to return a Munster based IFA President and says the priorities for the group going forward include farm incomes and transparency and unity within IFA.
