Fishing gear has been found in the search for a missing Chinese national off the North Kerry coast. Up to 40 people are involved in the effort including the crew of the Irish naval vessel the LÉ Orla. The man was fishing with friends at Kerryhead yesterday afternoon when he was pulled into the water by a wave. Valentia Coastguard, Shannon Rescue Helicopter 115, Fenit Lifeboat are also assisting in the search with on-shore assistance from Banna Sea & Cliff Rescue, Glenderry and Ballybunion Coastal Units. Radio Kerry has also been informed that the LÉ Orla, which was due to be opened to the public today in Tralee today at 2.30pm, will now be unavailable due to the ongoing search and rescue mission.
