The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group reported their first sighting of the season of a Humpback whale off the Kerry coast. Ciaran Cronin, of Wildeye made the sighting last Saturday from Valentia Island. This sighting was of an adult animal that surfaced off the cliffs at Bray Head. There were also reported sightings of two humpbacks off Slea Head close to the Blasket Island of Inis Na Mbrό. The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group say the best place to see these magnificent species between now and September is likely to be West Kerry.
