Firies musician in running for Bonn Óir Seán Uí Riada

Firies musician Robert Fell will be among 15 flute and whistle players competing for Bonn Óir Seán Uí Riada in Cork tonight. Robert Fell Robert was taught flute and tin whistle by Padraig Buckley from Fossa and took up the uilleann pipes a few years ago under the tutelage of Tadhg Buckley. He now teaches flute, whistle and pipes in the Killarney School of Music and is a member of Sliabh Mish branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Brosna fiddler Darragh Curtin, grand nephew of Con Curtin, was last year’s winner of Bonn Óir Seán Uí Riada.
